16 years old and just three weeks before Jennifer was born! I married Steve on 10th May 1975 at Plymouth registry office. I was in hospital until half-hour before the service and had to return there straight after. In fact the reception, for about 10 people, was held in a side ward! I had high blood pressure and anaemia and in those days doctors were kings and what they said went, especially to a shy, nervous child which I was. The marriage never stood a hope of lasting because we were both too young, Steve was only 21 himself, but both sets of parents decided it should happen.
